Mosaic Movement

My own movement practice consists of a balanced sampling of all the different modalities I have learned throughout my 25 years of working in the health and wellness field.  In using a mosaic approach the focus of each practice is to experience movement, breath, and sensations in the present moment via the experience of the body.  Practices we explore in the movement studio  can include Yoga, Pilates, Somatics, meditation, breath work, strengthening and stretching. Some of the movement studio classes may consist of a complete yoga focus, or perhaps a Pilates focus, other classes may include bits and piece of various different movement modalities.  Regardless of the class focus all movement classes encourage participants  to experience noticing any sensations that may arise as the body moves, breathes, and relaxes.  

 

Just like a piece of mosaic art, movement as a mosaic is about the bringing together of  small pieces of different practices.  Each small piece of practice  is held to the other through mindful awareness. Mindfulness is the solder that holds the practices together, allowing us to explore the movements in a gentle and curious manner.
